Overview

Embark on an exhilarating 11-day journey through the picturesque landscapes of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. The adventure commences in Manali. The following days lead you through the breathtaking terrains , including the newly inaugurated Atal Tunnel, as you journey towards Jispa and Sarchu. The exploration extends to Nubra Valley, driving over the famed Khardung La. An excursion to Turtuk offers historical insights. The journey proceeds to Pangong Lake, passing through challenging terrains, and finally returns to Leh. The itinerary also covers Leh to Kargil, with visits to Magnetic Hill, Likir Monastery, Sangam Point, Ri Dzong Monastery, and Lamayuru Monastery. The trip concludes with a drive to Srinagar via Drass and Sonmarg, paying homage to Kargil War sites. The tour ends with a departure from Srinagar.

Itinerary

Arrive in Manali by morning or evening, pick up & check in at hotel. Rest & acclimatise later take a walk to market area. Overnight stay.

After breakfast leave for Jispa via Atal Tunnel & Keylong, it is an approx. 2 hours’ drive. Jispa is located beside the Chandra River. Journey to this hamlet is one of the fascinating trails of the Manali Leh tour. Decorated naturally by streams, scenic peaks, picturesque valleys and lush greeneries, it gets the visitors close to the Mother Nature. Due to its location; around 10,000ft above the sea level, it offers panoramic views of the surrounding like no other regions. A perfect setting for an overnight stay in Jispa.

Since it’s a long route, leave early in the morning for Leh via Sarchu, Pang & the 4 mountain Passes – Baralacha pass (4,890 m) – Nakee La (4,730 m) – Lachulung La (4,927 m) – Tanglang La (5,300 m). The total distance hours should clock around 8 – 9 hours. Reach Leh by evening/late evening. Check in at hotel Leh.

After breakfast drive towards western part of Ladakh along the Indus river on Leh – Srinagar highway start sightseeing with Alchi Monastery at alchi village said to be the oldest & after visit Hall of Fame (Museum founded by India Army) near Leh is worth a visit for every Indian, and proceed further to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib founded in 15th century, Nestled deep in the Himalayas, drive ahead another 5 km for Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity & further Driving through a picturesque landscape & visit Sangam - The Confluence Of The Indus And Zanskar River. After visiting above places we drive back to Leh . Overnight at hotel in Leh

After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, riding across Khardong-la (The Highest Motor able Road in the World alt: 5602Mts/18390Ft). After descending from the pass, Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Arrive at Hunder & check in at Hotel/Camps. Later visit Deskit monastery & the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment) .Overnight at Hotel/Camp

After breakfast drive to Turtuk village lies 80 km away from Hunder. Visit Dhothang (LOC) border view of Pakistan. Turtuk is one of the northernmost villages in India; it was under Pakistan's control until 1971. The residents of Turtuk and its adjoining villages speak Balti language along with Ladakhi and Urdu. Turtuk is the last outpost of India at Dhothang after which Pakistan- controlled Gilgit Baltistan begins. Turtuk is known for its varieties of fruits especially apricot. Return to hunder by evening. Overnight at Hotel in Hunder.

After breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake via Shayok. Along the route, enjoy the scenic views of Shayok River & Karakoram Range. This route has few water crossings mainly in the month of June & July, to avoid these you need to leave early from Nubra. Reach Pangong Lake by afternoon. The lake is world highest saltwater lake situated at an elevation of 4,225 m. extending to almost 130 km long, 1/3 of its lies in India and 2/3 in China). Check in at camp/hotel in Pangong.

After breakfast, leave for Leh across another one of the highest motor able road in the world, Chang La Pass at an elevation of 5360 M. On the way visiting Shey Palace, Hemis Monastery & Thiksey Monastery. Reach Leh by afternoon/evening, check in at Hotel. Rest & later have a leisure evening in the leh market. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Early morning breakfast & drive to Kargil, enroute visiting Lamayuru Monastery - The Lamayuru Monastery is one of the oldest and most significant monasteries in Ladakh. It is perched at a high altitude of 3,511 metres above sea level. Apart from being one of the largest monasteries in all of Ladakh, this Tibetan Buddhist monastery is also the oldest gompa in the region and is known as “the place of freedom” or “Tharpa Ling". Reach there by lunch time. Check in at hotel, after lunch Visit the Vijay Smarak (war memorial of Drass-Kargil) at Drass and return to Kargil. Night stay at Kargil.

Since you are riding across Zojila Pass and its route’s uncertainty, you need to leave early in the morning, after early breakfast leave for Srinagar, via Zojila pass (3,528 m), enroute visiting Drass - War memorial hall & Museum. Drass is 2nd coldest inhabitant place in the world. Reach Srinagar by evening. Check in at hotel in Srinagar.
